Study advisors

At the GSLS, study advisors are here to support you throughout your academic journey and are often one of your first points of contact for study-related questions and challenges. In short, study advisors are a practical and confidential resource, ready to help you get the most out of your time at Utrecht University.

Study advisors can guide and advise you on all aspects of your studies, including choosing your courses, planning your academic path and understanding programme requirements. They are knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of your degree and can help you navigate the many facilities and support services the University offers.

Whether you are struggling with study skills, feeling uncertain about your study choices, or facing delays due to personal circumstances, a study advisor will listen and work with you to find suitable solutions. They can also refer you to the right support services or specialists if your situation requires more specific help.

Study advisors are there for you if you:

  • Need help understanding your curriculum or progression.
  • Are facing personal circumstances affecting your studies, such as illness or family matters.
  • Want support with study planning and academic skills.
  • Feel unsure about your academic choices or future direction.
