Generative AI guidelines
The Generative AI guidelines have been created to help you navigate the use of these tools responsibly and effectively. We have also developed Open Access Tutorials on Brightspace aimed at sharpening your skills in responsibly leveraging these tools within your education. The full guidelines can be found below.
Before using any GenAI tool in your courses and research, please consult with your teacher/supervisor.
While we are still exploring its potential, it is important to recognise that these tools, though powerful, can also be misused. Your teachers will provide specific guidelines for their use in assignments and courses.
Please be transparent, critically assess results, and consider the ethical implications. By considering these aspects, you not only engage with AI responsibly but also gain a deeper understanding of ethical data utilisation.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask your teachers or contact the GSLS Generative Education Initiative (GSLSGenAISupport@umcutrecht.nl).
Additional guidelines for Generative AI
in research projects
These guidelines serve as a complement to the guidelines mentioned above, specifically tailored to the context of GSLS research projects.
Before using GenAI in your research projects, you must discuss with your supervisor how much they feel GenAI can be used. Unauthorised use of GenAI can be considered fraud as specified in the EER.
