SEED Tool
At GSLS, we aim to foster an open working atmosphere and a safe environment where you can explore your professional identity and determine your career path. The SEED tool facilitates Supervision Expectations & Evaluation Dialogue. It encourages you to reflect and engage in proactive discussions with your supervisors about creating the best conditions for an effective learning environment.
What does the tool look like?
How to use the SEED Tool?
The SEED Tool comprises three essential steps to help you nurture your growth: planting, watering, and blooming.
Planting Phase
In the planting phase, organise a meeting with your supervisor to discuss the context of your project, expectations, assessment criteria, and communication methods. Use the SEED Tool form to record all agreements, which will help you reflect on your collaboration and project progress.
Watering Phase
Step two is watering your SEED. Review previous agreements, assess progress, and identify areas for improvement. Use this meeting to realign with your supervisor if needed. Document all agreements in the form and repeat as necessary.
Blooming Phase
The final step is the blooming phase. As you prepare to conclude your project, reflect on best practices and lessons learned. It’s optional to hold a feedback meeting with your supervisor during this stage.
