As an SBM student, you are developing a unique combination of scientific expertise and business acumen — preparing yourself for a future in science-driven companies and organisations. The programme is designed to equip you with the skills to manage and market knowledge-intensive products while maintaining a solid grasp of the scientific foundations behind them.

Year 1

Begin your journey with the Life Sciences Academy (1.5 EC) by participating in the compulsory Introducing Life Sciences (ILS) week. Your first year focuses on scientific research within your area of expertise through a Major Research Project of either 51 EC or 42 EC.
