In the Infection and Immunity programme, you explore how pathogens and the immune system interact. You will follow in-depth courses and gain hands-on research experience through a long-term internship. This combination equips you with the skills to contribute to innovations like immunotherapies and alternatives to antibiotics. The programme offers flexibility to tailor your studies to your career goals.
Year 1
Begin your journey with the Life Sciences Academy (1.5 EC). You will follow compulsory courses (15 EC), these courses provide a comprehensive understanding of infection and immunity. Additionally, you will start your Major Research Project (51 EC).

Year 2
You will complete your Major Research Project (51 EC), choose an Elective Component (12 EC), and follow a chosen Profile (33 EC). To conclude your degree, you will complete a Writing Assignment (7.5 EC) that sharpens your skills in scientific writing and critical analysis.

Infection and Immunity students actively share their research findings during the annual student-led symposium, presenting the results of their first internship to peers and faculty.
To further develop analytical skills, students can take the elective course in Computational Immunology, which integrates statistics, modelling, and big data to explore immune system dynamics.
