The Master's programme Epidemiology is a full-time, 120 EC research programme. With a practical, clinical question-driven approach, it prepares you to design and conduct patient-oriented research in clinical medicine and public health. The programme also meets the Dutch Society for Epidemiology criteria for Epidemiologist A registration when combined with a suitable medical background.

Year 1

Begin your journey with the Life Sciences Academy (1.5 EC). In the first year, you focus on building a solid theoretical foundation in epidemiology and begin to specialise in your area of interest. To build that foundation you will need to follow compulsory courses (21 EC), specialisation courses (13 EC), and choose an Elective Component (12 EC).

As part of the course Presentation and Writing Research Proposals, you will take part in our yearly seminar, held at a professional conference venue. During this event, you will present and discuss your research proposal and poster with fellow students and senior staff members.
