Conditions for and procedure of enrolment
First year Master's students of the Graduate School of Life Sciences can enrol in the U/Select extracurricular Honours programme.
A selection committee will judge all applications and select the U/Select participants. You may be invited for an interview with this committee. 10-12 participants each year are selected to enter the programme.
What to expect
U/Select is a two-year extracurricular Honours programme designed for ambitious Master’s students in the Life Sciences who want to get more out of their Master’s programme. It offers opportunities to deepen your studies, connect with a community of talented peers, and broaden your network beyond your own Master’s programme. You’ll gain valuable skills in research proposal writing and carry out a project abroad, laying a strong foundation for your future academic or professional career.
How does this fit with your Master’s programme?
Most components align with the GSLS Master’s programmes, except for Medical Imaging, Science and Business Management, and Epidemiology (postgraduate) programmes. As you will go abroad, the U/Select programme is compatible with the General Research profile, extended Bioinformatics profile, extended Aplied Data Sciences profile or an extended Complex Systems profile. Always consult your programme coordinator first to discuss your options.
