The electives enable you to expand your knowledge within your fields of interest, to address educational deficiencies and/or to extend your research project.

There are a few important things to consider about elective courses:

  • Some courses are only taught once a year and courses can overlap time wise. Therefore, decide in time in which courses you want to enrol, and check for any overlap.
  • Some courses are very popular or allow a limited number of students.
  • Some courses require prior knowledge. Make sure that you meet the requirements prior to starting the course.
  • The general planning needs to be discussed and agreed on with your programme coordinator prior to enrolling for elective courses.
