Utrecht University offers Google Apps for Education for free to all its students. You can work alongside your UU Gmail mailbox with Google Docs, Calendar and Hangouts. Also, Google Drive and Google Sites are included. You have unlimited storage. More information can be found at Google.

Google Drive allows you to store files, edit, share and sync. You have access to your files anywhere, whether you're at the University or at home.More information can be found at  Google.

With Google Docs you can:


  • Create documents, presentations, spreadsheets, forms and drawings. Work simultaneously with other students on the same document and instantly view changes made by others.
  • Share documents with students or employees. Make sure this has been agreed by teachers and/or staff before you do this.     
  • You can import and export Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) documents.

Google Sites allows you to create a custom site, based on a wide variety of templates and themes. The site's URL will have a http: /.../ students.uu.nl/[name ] address, and can can be publicly accessible - or to a limited group.
