Enrolment / Registration
You have to register for courses per study period and you have to re-enrol for your study programme per academic year. If you fail to to do either on time, you can not partake in education. Look here for information on (re)enrolling for your course.
You register for courses 4 times a year during a registration period, through Osiris.
The Course Planner is a digital planning tool that helps you to organise your studies and build your curriculum. The tool allows you to gain insight into your mandatory and possible elective courses, both within and outside of your own study programme. As of today you can find possible electives outside your major, via the Course Planner. You can search by topic, education style or competence. More information is to be found at Student Site.
Do not choose courses in the same timeslot .
In the first teaching period of your program, you will be registered for the courses in your program. After that you arrange it yourself through Osiris. You can then also make your own choices in the program.

During the registration period, you will receive a message and reminder at your UU email address. You can then register for 2 courses (max. 15 EC) through Osiris. If you register in time, there will almost always be room in the courses of your first choice.
If you want to take more than two courses, use this application form and submit it during the registration period. Do this after you have registered for the other two courses. After the registration period has closed, you will hear whether your request for an extra course has been accepted. Requests for an extra course are no longer possible during the post-registration days.
Did you forget to make use of the registration period or do you want to take another course? Then you still have a chance during the post-registration days. You can then register via Osiris only for courses where there are still places left, so your choice is limited!
An overview with numbers of available spots will appear here a few days before the next late registration.

The course descriptions in Osiris indicate whether there are entry and selection requirements. If you do not meet these requirements, you cannot register or you will be deregistered after a check. If you think you do meet these requirements but you cannot enroll, please contact Student Affairs Geosciences for advice.
If you have not received a notice of deregistration at your UU email address at least 15 working days before the start of the course then you have been placed on the course.
Do you not want to participate in the course you have registered for? Or do you decide to stop with the course? If so, please unsubscribe via Osiris as soon as possible and no later than two weeks after the start of the course. If you deregister when the course has already started, please also notify the course coordinator.
If you want to take an elective at another Utrecht University programme or outside of Utrecht University, orient yourself in time. Please note that other registration periods and procedures may apply.
If you want to take an elective course other than the ones listed in the elective courses of your programme, first ask permission from the Board of Examiners via Osiris Case. You can read how to do this under Contact > Board of Examiners.
Please contact Student Affairs Geosciences if you have any questions or problems with registration.
