The emphasis of the International Development Studies Master’s programme is on development geography. In this programme you will learn:

  • about the recent changes in theories, policies and practices in international development;
  • about the complex and dynamic inter-relationship between development, mobility and access to natural resources;
  • about how households, businesses and institutions in the Global South are responding to climate change, migration, urbanisation and economic globalisation;
  • to see the world through different lenses and from different disciplinary perspectives.

Aims

Upon completion of the programme, you will have acquired theoretical, methodological and practical competencies that will be useful for your career in further academic research, development policy and development practice. You will be equipped to work in all fields that require an understanding of world affairs and international experience, as well as analytical, communication and project implementation skills.
