Introduction (IN)
Welcome to Utrecht University, welcome to the Master’s programme Youth, Education and Society. As a (new) student, you will receive a lot of new information. Here is an overview of what you need to get a good start to your studies.
What you need to do before you begin
Before starting your programme, there are a few things you need to take care of.
| Submit a digital direct debit authorisation | Submit your digital direct authorisation for direct debit in Studielink to finalize your enrolment. |

| Order your books | Check the course you’ll be taking (in the Course Catalogue) for the materials you need to order. |
| Set up your login | Activate your UU-account and install Microsoft Teams and Solisworkspace. See the ICT-tools section below for more information. |
The introduction week
The first week of your programme includes an introductory programme (the “IN”), introductory lectures and the IN festival.

| Lectures | You will automatically be enrolled in the (mandatory) courses for periods 1 and 2. At the end of August you’ll be able to view your personal study schedule via MyTimetable. |
| IN-festival | On Thursday all new students in the faculty are invited to a festival featuring music, workshops and information stands. View the IN-festival poster (pdf). |
ICT-tools
During your studies, you’ll use various IT systems and tools. See the overview below or consult the document: ICT systems and tools needed for your studies (pdf).
| Contact and Login | Every student has a personal account for accessing systems and receiving messages from the programme. Learn more about Solis-ID, 2FA, Student email and Wifi. |

Who-what-where
The university is a large organisation, with many different facilities and buildings. Below is a selection of the most frequently used. For a more detailed overview, visit your programme’s contact page or view this visual guide (pdf).
| Tutor | Your tutor is your fist point of contact for study-related questions. |

| Student Information Point (STIP) | STIP is there for all practical questions regarding your studies, such as scheduling, course registration and graduation. |
| Study Advisor | The Study Advisor helps with questions about your study programme, exam requirements, studying with a disability, academic progress and personal matters that may affect your studies. |
| Student Welbeing | The university offers support to help you maintain balance in your studies, personal development and daily life. If you would like to discuss which support options suit you the best, visit the FSW Student Wellbeing Hub. |
| Student Association | A student association is a society affiliated with your programme. Through the student association, you can connect with fellow students, as associations organise various social activities. |
