Internship

During your internship, you will work as a junior psychologist in one of the practical or research fields of Social, Health and/or Organisational Psychology. You will apply your knowledge and skills in a work setting and further develop your professional abilities. Professional and scientific reflection will be key aspects of the internship.

What kind of internship?

Several options are possible, both internal and external. You can opt for a practical internship, a research internship, a training & coaching internship or an entrepeneurial project.

What are the requirements for an internship?

External internships must meet specific criteria, which are assessed by the internal supervisor. If there are any doubts, the supervisor will consult the track coordinator.

Finding an internship

You must find your own internship placement. It’s important to start looking early, preferably by February or March, before the programme begins.

What are the possibilities for International students?

The Netherlands is home to many international organisations where English is often the main business language. However, it is important to realize that Dutch is required for the majority of internships that are offered in the Netherlands. We therefore advise international students to explore internship opportunities abroad (including their home country) as well.

Doing an internship abroad?

If you want to do an internship abroad, you must register your stay in OSIRIS. More information about the registration procedure can be found on the Study abroad page.
