Over the past few weeks, the student members of the Faculty Council have been busy finding new candidates to represent FSBS students in the Faculty Council. This year, there are 28 candidates across 3 lists. A total of 7 seats are available for the student section. On this page, you will find more information about the lists and the role of the Faculty Council.

Lijst VUUR

Studenten Voor Sociale Vooruitgang (SVSV)
Students for Social Progress advocates for inclusive and up-to-date education, which provides space for dialogue between the university and students. We also believe it is important for students to be well prepared for the labour market within today’s society. Furthermore, we are committed to student wellbeing and sustainability within the faculty.

Student Coalition Utrecht (SCU)
Student Coalition Utrecht is the party for students, we stand up for all students. Fair and accessible education is a top priority for us. Within FSW, we want to make education more inclusive and accessible through measures such as standardised lectures, exam-free days around major religious holidays, a wider range of books including the DSM-5-TR, broader reporting channels for discrimination and social safety, more places to study and meet up, and the abolition of the 4-rule.

What does the Faculty Council do?
The Faculty Council plays an important role within the faculty community. It is the representative body for staff and students. The Council is authorised to consult with the Dean on all faculty matters. The Council has the right of consent regarding several important decisions made by the Dean, such as the adoption of the Faculty Regulations and the Education and Examination Regulations (EER). The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences consists of seven staff members and seven student members and is chaired by Toon Taris. They meet eight times a year.

- Friday, 5 June 2026 at 10:00 a.m.: Public meeting to determine the election results in the Faculty Room (Martinus J. Langeveldgebouw E3.14).
