Bring Your Own Device

We expect you to bring a laptop to the university if you are doing a computer course. As a UU student, you will be able to access practically all study software everywhere free of charge via your laptop.

Check the frequently asked questions about using your own laptop.

Access to IT systems and communication with UU after termination of enrolment

After your de-enrolment date, you will still have access to university IT systems (your mail, U-drive, OneDrive, etc.) for three months. After that, you will no longer have access to your data and it will be deleted.

What do you need to arrange when you leave?

  • Making sure your personal email address is correct in Osiris so that you can still correspond with the university and we can correspond with you. You can check how to change this at the bottom of this guide.
  • Save your personal data, such as e-mails you want to keep or other data (from your U-drive, OneDrive, etc.). Note: this also applies to OneDrive you get through the UU! If you have linked OneDrive with (personal) data on your mobile phone, tablet or computer, you won't be able to access that data later. So secure these as well.
  • Handle all other pending matters.

You can read more information about your account here. This is also referred to in an e-mail you receive when you leave the university. If you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Desk.
