Testing
For every (sub)test within a course, two opportunities are offered each academic year. If you do not pass the course after the first opportunity, you may sometimes make use of the second opportunity
1. The first test opportunity
You may participate in the first test opportunity if you have met the participation requirements as specified in the course manual. You will be automatically registered for the test. Deregistration is not necessary. If you are absent, you may participate in the second exam opportunity.
2. The second test opportunity
You may participate in the second test opportunity if you were absent at the first test opportunity. You may also participate if you received an insufficient grade in the first test opportunity, your final grade for the course is at least a non-rounded 4.0, and you have met the participation requirements as specified in the course manual. In both cases, you will be automatically registered. Deregistration is not necessary.
Insufficient final grade after two opportunities
If you do not achieve a sufficient final grade after both test opportunities – or you do not obtain a final grade at all -, you must retake the entire course in the next academic year. Partial results generally expire at the end of the academic year (31 August). If partial results may be carried over to the following year, this will be clearly stated in the course manual.
Exceptional circumstances
If, due to special circumstances, you did not achieve a sufficient grade you may submit a request for an exceptional test for special circumstances.
