Features

The Master’s programme uses different methods of instruction: lectures, tutorials, writing papers, training sessions et cetera. See below:

Teaching formats

  • Lectures: In some courses you will attend lectures (lectures are almost always organised on Fridays; except for Faculty organised courses). Please consult Osiris to view for which courses this applies.
  • Tutorials: In some courses you will attend tutorials (almost always on Fridays, but other days are also possible), in which you will practise specific skills or where attention is devoted to preparing for and working on assignments, as well as comparing and evaluating assignment results.
  • Symposia: For one course a series of symposia is organised in the form used at scientific conferences.
  • Literature: The literature list can be found in the course manuals of the specific courses. Usually you will study the books and articles individually.
  • Assignments: Frequently you will work with other students on a range of projects and tasks.
  • Internship supervision sessions: Throughout the year it is required to attend internship, or clinical skills lab sessions. In these sessions your learning goals and learning process are discussed. More information can be found in the internship course manual published on the Blackboard community ‘internship’.
  • Personal supervision: For the internship, thesis and the Academic Professional course, you will receive personal guidance in order to support your learning process and learning goals.
  • Workshops: In the Academic Professional (which runs throughout the year) a range of workshops will be offered within the faculty, e.g. on job market orientation.
