The Research Master's programme Cultural Anthropology: Sociocultural Transformation (CASTOR) introduces you to an anthropological study of the dynamic relation between cultural diversity and power in an interconnected world.

An anthropological analysis of the relation between cultural diversity and power within processes of sociocultural transformation is essential for understanding why strong globalization forces fail to result in increasing social and cultural sameness, and why power tensions and violent conflicts erupt or persist under these circumstances.

In the contemporary world, these are among the most pressing questions to be answered and CASTOR aims to provide you with precisely the intellectual resources, ethical awareness, empirical practices and communication skills to do so.
