Apply to become a member of the Faculty Council for the period 2026-2027

You can do so between 6 March and 9 April 2026 by joining one of the student lists or by setting up your own list.

From 1 to 3 June 2026, elections will be held for the student section of the Faculty Council Social and Behavioural Sciences. The student representatives are elected for a period of one year. The Faculty Council is the formal participation body of the Faculty Board.

Conditions for applying

You have to be enrolled as a student in one of the programmes of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. You can check with the secretary of the Faculty Electoral Committee to see if you are listed in the register and can put yourself forward as candidate. To do so, send an email to KiescommissieFSW@uu.nl.

How to apply

The period during which you can nominate yourself as a candidate is between 6 March and 9 April 2026. Students can join an existing list or party, or start their own list. Information about the available lists can be obtained from the student member of the Faculty Electoral Committee (see below under Electoral Committee FSBS). It is always possible to start your own list. The procedure for this can be found in the Faculty Election Regulations.

Important dates 

  • Thursday, 9 April 2026: Deadline for submitting candidate lists and declarations of consent.
  • Tuesday, 21 April 2026 at 1:30 p.m.: Public meeting to determine candidate lists. Register via: KiescommissieFSW@uu.nl.
  • 1 to 3 June 2026: Elections
  • Friday, 5 June 2026 at 10:00 a.m.: Public meeting to determine the election results. Register via: KiescommissieFSW@uu.nl.
