Your Perspective: Media, Marketing and Communication

Romy Halfweeg completed her bachelor’s degree in Language and Culture Studies at Utrecht University (UU), where she also took a minor in Game Studies. She now works as a Business Development Manager at Poki, a company in online games that reach millions of people worldwide. In October, she represented Poki in a Charity Cook-off in Thailand, with the proceeds donated to Doctors Without Borders.

Lindert van Horssen completed his bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and his master’s degrees in Cultural History and Film and Television at UU. After working elsewhere for over two years, he returned to the UU as an Online Marketeer at Continuing Education. This department within the UU helps professionals keep their knowledge and skills up to date. The courses and masterclasses explore new scientific insights and apply them in practice.

Luna Gloudemans completed her bachelor’s degree in Dutch Language and Culture at the UU and completed a master’s in Dutch Studies in Leiden. She currently works as a Marketing and Communications Officer at the Nexus Institute. The Nexus Institute studies Europe’s cultural heritage in its artistic, philosophical, and intellectual dimensions, seeking to provide insight into contemporary questions and stimulate the cultural-philosophical debate. Luna is responsible for developing and implementing a marketing strategy for Nexus’s activities and publications.

Dennis Aarnink completed his bachelor’s degree in International Studies at Windesheim and his master’s in Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies at the UU. He currently works at Refugee Talent Hub, where he connects refugees and employers to create sustainable paid employment opportunities. His work focuses on communication and programs, which involve developing and executing effective communication strategies and organizing initiatives.
