Your Perspective: Data work
A big part of our daily life is situated online. No wonder more and more humanities scholars and graduates end up working with data in their jobs. For some, it’s a more central part of their work, and this edition of Your Perspective will show you some examples. Think data science, analysis, privacy and more. Speakers
Konstantinos Askitidis works at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, as a commercial reporting analyst in Sofia, Bulgaria. Before this he worked at Dutch coffee makers Jacobs Douwe Egberts, first as an intern and later as employee. Konstantinos did a Research Master in Linguistics at Utrecht University, and a Bachelor in English Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. According to his own words he is "fascinated and keen to delve deeper into the field of text mining (natural language processing) as well as data analysis in general."
Rianne Piening is application manager at The Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD-Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis). As such, she is responsible for technical and functional management and involved in the development of the user applications of the RKD. As Art History alumna, Rianne is "passionate about the meeting of art history, technical analysis and computer science, especially the promises of image recognition for new art historical research."
Sander Huisman graduated Theatre, Film and Television Studies in 2014. After his Bachelor’s he did the Master programme Film Studies and Visual Culture at the University of Antwerp. Nowadays Sander is working for X2O, a bathroom specialist showroom, were he works as a User Experience and Conversion Rate Optimization specialist. This entails that he guides customer behaviour and is maximizing conversion rates for the X²O Bathrooms websites.
