Too much waste, too much CO2 in the atmosphere, too many consumer goods that don't last... - we all know these sustainability issues but what can we do to tackle these issues? 

MUSA Intimates, ReCarbn, and Kairos were founded to take action!

MUSA Intimates is a lingerie brand that produces underwear from banana textile, an alternative textile derived from waste residues of the Musa banana plant trunk - for a sustainable contribution to the fashion industry and the banana industry.

ReCarbn is a research-based tech startup that aims to accelerate the development of carbon capturing technology that directly removes CO₂ from the atmosphere - to fight climate change.

Kairos is a radically sustainable sofa and (soon as well) armchair (inmidst crowdfunding) - towards a more sustainable furniture industry.

About the event

For this event, we have partnered up with Storm, the student association of sustainability science in Utrecht.

We invited the (co-)founders of these young innovative companies to share their experiences, ambitions, successes and pitfalls with you - to get a real feel for what is possible in the world of sustainable entrepreneurship.

After a short introduction to entrepreneurship, the three speakers will present their companies. Afterwards, you are all invited to participate in the interactive panel discussion - there is enough time to ask questions and discuss sustainability issues, together with the speakers and other interested students in the audience.

Good to know: We will provide vegan lunch!

For whom?

Any interested UU student. There’s no prior knowledge or preparation needed (but feel free to think of questions for the speakers beforehand). The event is free of charge, registration is mandatory. Since lunch will be provided, we do expect you to show up or to deregister via email in due time. The language of the event is English.
