Online Paneldiscussion Diversity in the Job Market: How to Act, How to Respond (in English)

Are you looking for an internship or a first job? These days diversity and inclusion is high on the agenda of many companies and organisations. But what can this mean for you?

It can be useful to anticipate on an employer's view on diversity and inclusion. At the same time, you might (still) have questions about how to approach certain things in the process of looking for a job when it comes to your specific situation. For example, you might wonder where to mention a disability on your resume or how to respond to questions or remarks about your ethnicity, diagnosis or sexual orientation during an interview. In this session Career Officer Thérèse Albers will discuss the process of applying for jobs with several experts from the field, with the employer's perspective in mind. Irene Stortenbeek from SWOM (a foundation which helps young professionals with a disability find a fitting job) will be joining, as well as Melvin Tjoe Nij (founder of inclusive recruitment and advisory agency Global People, Board member VNO NCW Amsterdam, Advisory Board member FeB Faculty UvA / UvA business School). Ilona Mol is student Intercultural Communication, member of Platform Studying Without Limitations and diagnosed with ASD. She will contribute as an experience expert and share what she encountered during (the search for) her internship and sidejob.
