Online Life Sciences Career Event

During the Life Sciences Career Event webinars, (young) alumni who work in different jobs at different organizations, will tell you more about their work. Get to know how it is like to work at a pharmaceutical company, at a non-profit organization or within academia. This webinar will start of with a short introduction, after which two alumni will give a presentation about their career and the choices they made. You have the possibility to ask all your questions beforehand or during the webinar by chat.

About Daniëlle van Keulen

Daniëlle van Keulen works as a scientist at SkylineDx, a molecular diagnostics company based in Rotterdam. She studied Biomedical sciences followed my the master Regenerative medicine and technology. All her studies took place in Utrecht except for her minor internship, for which she moved to Hannover, Germany. After this trip abroad, she came back to Utrecht for her PhD study in the field of cardiovascular medicine, which she successfully defended in 2019. During the final months of her PhD project, she decided to make the transition to industry and she started her job as a Scientist at SkylineDx.

About Diede Brunen

• Bachelor in Biomedical Sciences, UU

• PhD at Dept. Molecular Carcinogenesis, NKI-AVL
• Currently Senior Associate at BGV, a life sciences venture capital fund

During my time in academia, I realized that I had a strong interest in the translation of scientific ideas into novel treatments for patients. In addition, I was very keen to learn the business aspects of what makes a biotech company successful.

After my PhD, I joined the investment team of BioGeneration Ventures, a life sciences focused venture capital fund. At BGV, I evaluate investment opportunities across all indications. I also support portfolio companies by participating in R&D meetings and acting as a board members/observer.
