Municipal Council Election Event LEG faculty

With the national elections behind us, attention is already turning to the next vote: the municipal council elections. On 18 March 2026, all residents of Utrecht will once again go to the polls to elect a new municipal council.

To help inform voters, the student associations of the REBO Faculty (ECU’92, JSVU, and Perikles) organize an informative event for every Dutch election, during which representatives of the relevant political parties present and explain their positions.

On March 17th 2026, we will host an event to learn more about the municipal council elections and to discuss key topics related to them. The location will be announced at a later date.

'In a constantly evolving political landscape, it becomes ever more important to actively seek out and strengthen collaboration between the city and Utrecht University.'

Collaboration

This project aligns closely with the 2026 lustrum theme, which emphasizes the connection between Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht, and the city and region. The municipal elections affect not only the residents of Utrecht, but also have direct consequences for every student and staff member of Utrecht University. In a constantly evolving political landscape, it is increasingly important to actively seek out and strengthen collaboration between the city and the university.
