Diergeneeskunde Outdoor Event (DOE)

Do you love animals, are you curious to learn more about animals and veterinary medicine, or are you simply looking for a fun and free day out? Come to the Diergeneeskunde Outdoor Event (DOE) on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Utrecht!

Every year DOE takes place on the fields next to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Visitors can enjoy engaging lectures, interactive workshops, demonstrations, and guided tours. In addition, there is a lively country fair, a children’s area and a food court with live music. This edition will include an expanded area dedicated to ‘Boeren-voor-Morgen’, where you can experience farm life up close and learn how the university collaborates with farmers and regional partners to promote animal welfare.

Also featuring, for the first time, a “DOE-it-yourself” area where you can learn practical skills with your own dog, such as how to give your dog a pill or how to trim its nails.

If you love horses, you won’t want to miss this exciting competition, including dressage, obstacles, and a mini-marathon. Will you come and cheer on the participants, or even take part yourself?

DOE is a free, fun, and educational day for all ages. Everyone is welcome to join, so bring your friends and family!
