Housing assistance

Students are responsible for arranging their own housing. Exchange students typically opt to live in either on-campus apartments or residence halls. Students are encouraged to contract as soon as possible once admitted in order to have access to the greatest range of options.

On-campus housing options can be explored here.

Though it is challenging to find furnished apartments with short-term leases, exchange students occasionally choose to live off-campus.

Naismith Hall is one of the off-campus options popular with exchange students.

Estimated living costs per month

Average living costs are around $1,500 per month. (Estimate from 2019).

Number of places available

3 places per year for the MAUI program in total.

After the 1 December deadline it is not possible anymore to apply for an exchange to one of the MAUI partners, even for semester 2 (start January next academic year), due to early application deadlines. This means you have to apply before December 1st.

  • When you apply in Osiris you may choose: MAUI network

  • At second and third place you choose a university outside the MAUI network

  • You list 3 MAUI university choices in your study plan (under additional comments).

  • Placement at the university of your first choice cannot be guaranteed, but MAUI will try to meet your preference.

For the academic year 24-25 selection was not necessary but for 23-24 it was. We hope to be able to place all students who put MAUI in their top 3 but it cannot be guaranteed.
