Semester I: last week of September – last week of January
Semester II: 1st week of February – last week of May

Orientation generally commences mid September for Semester I.

Exams take place in January for Semester I and in May for Semester II.

Areas of study open to exchange students

All, except the following restrictions:

  • Psychology and Law are only available where a direct agreement exists between your department within your university and the University of Hull.
  • Certain Social Work and Youth and Community Development modules are unavailable due to DBS checks required (working with vulnerable people/children).
  • Unfortunately we do not offer exchange opportunities on our Medicine programmes.

Housing assistance

Exchange students can apply for on-campus accommodation. If demand exceeds supply, you will be directed to alternative accommodation in the private sector.

Estimated living costs per month

Average living costs are around  £1,000 or €1,100 per month. (Estimate from 2022)

The UKVI requires you to have £1,015 per month in your bank account, available for your accommodation, local travel, food and entertainment.
