Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona)
Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) is an exchange destination for bachelor and master students of Utrecht University School of Law.
Term 1: September up to and including December
Each term consists of 10 weeks of classes and 2 weeks for the exams. Orientation days are planned to welcome exchange students at the beginning of each term. Attendance to these sessions is compulsory.
|Language of instruction|
Primarily Spanish and Catalan, very few English-taught courses available.
Due to the limited supply of courses in English, a whole study period solely in English is unfeasible.
Although sometimes some English-taught courses seem to be offered, you will have to be prepared to follow mainly Spanish-taught courses. The reason for this is that the English taught courses are often full or not available when you try to register for them. Hence, if your level of Spanish is not sufficient, you might not be able to reach the minimum required amount of ECTS (also for the Erasmus+ grant!)
Language requirement: a minimum language level of B1 (CEFR) in Spanish at the time of the Utrecht University Study Abroad application. Students can hand in the following documents in Osiris:
The International Exchange Office highly recommends a B2 level at the moment of exchange in order to fully participate in courses.
Spanish language courses taken at UPF will not be part of the Transcript of Records (so credits cannot be submitted in Utrecht).
|Areas of study open for exchange students|
Law, Criminology and Labour Relations.
Courses from other faculties are restricted and upon availability.
