Costs of living

In comparison to other large cities in Germany, living in Mannheim is not very expensive. Approx. € 970 - € 1000* per month including rent. Your expenses of course heavily depend on your lifestyle. Students can buy a semester ticket at the current price of € 185* for unlimited public transportation in the greater Mannheim area.

Additional information

Additional to courses at Social Sciences all incoming students can take up to 50% of their courses within the university wide electives.

In order to cover the costs of the student services, by law, every student enrolled in a German university - including exchange students - has to pay a semester contribution. The contribution is currently € 120,30* per semester.
