There is no GPA requirement for this destination.
German B1 and/or English B2.
Knowledge of German language is required. There is no need to show evidence of a German exam, but taking an exam is always recommended.

Housing is not guaranteed. There is a wide range of reasonably-priced flats and rooms in Basel. Information and assistance can be obtained from the university or the Student Housing Organisation.

The cost of living vary greatly depending on personal circumstances and individual requirements. The following figures should therefore be regarded as guidelines:
- Housing: 450 CHF
- Food: 350 CHF
- Education costs (books, copies, scripts): 150 CHF
Average living costs per month are around 1000 CHF or €1,050. (Estimate from 2022)
Please note that students studying in Switzerland cannot apply for the Erasmus grant but can instead apply for the Swiss European Mobility Programme for financial support.
The credit points awarded at the University of Basel are equivalent to ECTS, based on student workload. The marking scale of the grading system used at the University of Basel ranges from 1(fail) to 6 (excellent), with passing grade 4.
