Please be aware that at the beginning of each semester, there is a compulsory orientation week. 

Exchange students have specific exams. They cannot take their exams with regular students.
1st semester exams: Mid-December
2nd semester exams: End of April to mid-May

Requirements

FRENCH Exchange

* FRENCH TRACK STUDENTS: Requirement - B1 official certificate level in French (CEFR). A certificate from a French language teacher, an official language certificate is required. Alternatively you can submit the results of the EU Academy French placement test if   the  results show the required level of French or higher.

* POLITICAL STUDIES CERTIFICATE/ ATTESTION: Requirement - B2 official certificate level in French (CEFR). To qualify for these certifications, students must take 3 mandatory seminars: French Language and Civilization, Political Studies, and French Contemporary Issues. These courses are focused on fostering students’ critical thinking and oral skills in French through comparative analyses of contemporary issues in France and their home countries.

The Certificate of Political Studies (CEP : Certificat d’Études Politiques) for students who complete one academic year (60 ECTS credits) of study

The Attestation of Political Studies (AEP : Attestation d’Études Politiques) for students who complete one semester (30 ECTS credits) of study

ENGLISH Exchange:

ENGLISH TRACK STUDENTS: Requirement - B2 level in English according to the CEFRL (IELTS 6), level in French has to be under B1 (English taught courses are for beginners in French only). You will have to submit proof that your French proficiency is under B1 level. You can do this with a letter from a French language teacher, an official language certificate, or by submitting the results of the EU Academy French placement test.  

 

You have to submit proof of the language proficiency at your application at the host university.

Please note that students cannot register for courses before their arrival in Bordeaux (but the courses offer can be found in the catalogue on their website).

University Accommodation: Foreign students who wish to stay in a university residence hall must apply online to the CROUS de Bordeaux before June 1, 2021 (first semester’s students) or before October 25, 2021 (second semester’s students). They must also email their registration data to Eléna Dubâa: e.dubaa@sciencespobordeaux.fr 

CROUS = the organization responsible for managing student accommodation, restaurants, grants, etc. 
 

Private accommodation: Accommodation is difficult to find in Bordeaux. Students are responsible for finding their own accommodation. Before leaving you have to give three-month notice.
