Requirements | Students should have a comparable proficiency in English as courses at HKUST are mainly conducted in English. |
Areas of study open to exchange students | Chemistry, Environmental Science, Life Science, Mathematics and Physics. (Science exchange students are allowed to take courses offered by School of Engineering, School of Business and Management and School of Humanities and Social Science subject to the course pre-requisites, class quota and the course instructor’s approval.) |
Courses at Master’s level | In principle, eligible science exchange students are allowed to take postgraduate science courses subject to approval of course instructor and the availability of seats. However, please note that science exchange students are very unlikely to enrol in the postgraduate courses offered by the School of Engineering, School of Business and Management, and School of Humanities and Social Science, since they are with very limited class quota or self-financed. Language of instruction | Courses in HKUST are mainly conducted in English. Exceptions include some foreign language courses offered by the Center for Language Education, and some courses related to Chinese cultural heritage or local Hong Kong community offered by School of Humanities and Social Science. |
Housing assistance | Students will be arranged with university accommodation as far as possible. You will be assigned to a double or triple room in a undergraduate student hall for the program duration. The Student Housing and Residential Life Office also provides students with relevant information and advice on self-arranged accommodation. For details, please look here. |
