The Holland Scholarship is especially for students of Utrecht University who are going to study or conduct research at one of the strategic partners or University-wide exchange partners of Utrecht University.

First all students with a place at the three strategic partners are eligible for a grant:

  • Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • University of Sydney
  • University of Toronto

We expect more grants to be available than students going to the strategic partners. The remaining scholarships will be distributed by drawing lots.

You can appeal to the lottery for the remaining scholarships if:

  1. Your exchange or research takes place at a universitywide partner university, a list of which you can find here.
  2. This partner university is situated outside of the EU/EER. Students who are going to a university in the United Kingdom will thus also be able to apply for the Holland Scholarship.

The scholarship consists of a one-time amount of € 1,250 and is a contribution for your study costs.
