University of Oslo is an exchange destination for Utrecht University Faculty of Science bachelor and master students Physics, Mathematics and Computing Sciences.
General information for exchange students
Autumn semester: from the middle of August to the middle of December.
Spring semester: from early January to the middle of June.
A good command of English is required of all students attending the University of Oslo.
Students nominated on bilateral agreements who are not native speakers of English must document their proficiency in English.
In general, Erasmus students do not have to provide documentation of language proficiency. Please contact your university's Erasmus coordinator or international office for information about the requirements for the agreement in question.

Courses are offered in English and Norwegian language courses are given in Norwegian. More information.
The student housing is administered by the Student Welfare Organization in Oslo and Akershus (SiO). All International students can apply for housing through SiO Housing.
Norway is an expensive country and it takes a while getting used to the high cost of living. As a student you will need a minimum of approximately NOK 11 500 per month in order to cover basic expenses. More detailed information.
To give you an idea of the living expenses for a student in Norway, we have put together a modest budget for one semester (all numbers are approximate):
Housing: NOK 17 500
Food: NOK 15 000
Books & Supplies: NOK 5000
Transportation: NOK 3000
Other expenses: NOK 12 000
Total for 5 months: NOK 52 500
During your first semester you must be prepared to use a substantial amount of money for setting up your household and for buying suitable clothing for the Norwegian climate.
A semester is 30 credits.
