From new states on artificial islands to mining on distant planets. Tech billionaires have the most futuristic plans to keep the Earth habitable. At the same time, our planet is suffering from their hunger for raw materials and energy-guzzling data centres. Together with media scientist Rianne Riemens (UU), we investigate how a small group of extremely wealthy men are shaping the future. What are their ideological motivations?

De Futuristen is a theatrical talk show in which theatre makers and scientists explore the future. It is a unique combination of interview and theatre, in which musicians and writers translate the vision of a high-profile guest into a performance in a single day. It doesn't get any fresher than this!
